Partnering with Families to Help Children Succeed

Every child deserves a strong start in life. And every parent deserves the resources, support and encouragement necessary to help his or her child develop optimally during the crucial early years. Now, thanks to the Wyoming Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) program, Wyoming parents have more opportunities to receive services that help young children grow up healthy, safe and ready to learn through evidence-based home visiting programs. Parents in these programs are becoming their children’s first and most effective teachers.

Expanding and strengthening early childhood services: With backing from the U.S. Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA), parent support programs in Wyoming are expanding and getting stronger. In a partnership led by nonprofit Parents as Teachers, one of the largest family support organizations in the world, Wyoming early childhood organizations are joining together to better serve the diverse needs of Wyoming families.

This means more families are voluntarily receiving supportive parenting education delivered personally in the comfort of their homes or other convenient locations. It means more professionals are teaming up to provide consistent, high-quality services that best fit individual needs and preferences. It means additional efforts are being undertaken to reach out to families experiencing the most need and, ultimately, it means more young children will have the chance to grow up healthy, safe and ready to learn.
